JumboNote music school will be having a Drum Workshop with drumming extraordinaire & author of popular drum book series ‘Zero To Hero’ Paul Watson on Wednesday 24th of August with two sessions, one for students at 6:00 pm and a teachers Master class at 7:30 pm. ‘Zero to Hero’ is JumboNote Music School’s only choice book in aiding students in learning drums. ‘Zero to Hero’ has become one of the most sort out drum teaching aids and it is an honour for JumboNote Music School to have Paul Watson share his knowledge with eager young drummers.
Paul Watson is a Sydney based session drummer and an accredited drum teacher with the Music Teachers’ Association of NSW. Paul had his first drum lesson at the age of ten with Sydney Symphony Orchestra percussionist, Brian Nixon.Throughout the years Paul went on to study with some of Australia’s top drummers and educators including Andrew Dickeson, David Jones, Gordon Rytmeister and Milan Troha.
Over the years his students have received Distinctions and High Distinctions in the AMEB CPM, Trinity Rock and Pop and Rockschool exams with many students going on to become teachers and professional players. Paul’s teaching experience allowed him to write his own drumming book’s, “Zero To Hero – Drum Kit” which was published and released by Hal Leonard in July of 2011 and reprinted as a Revised Edition in March of 2013 as well as “Zero To Hero – Drum Kit Book 2″ which was published and released by Hal Leonard in August 2014.
Paul has performed live with many artists including Choirboys, Jon English, Peter Cupples and Swanee to name a few. He has also played with the 2013 Mo Award winning show Rock Revolution.
